What can I do on TBS?FAQ

Where do we start – we stacked the deck from the get go! You can do things like add all your relevant hair information to easily share with stylists wherever you go: natural hair type, style you wear, color, goals, treatments, allergies, beauty goals, specific notes, and more. All a part of “owning your journey.” You get to tell your stylist what you need, why, and how!

Own Your Journey As You:

  2. Create albums of your favorite looks/products/styles
  3. Post favorite looks on your portfolio page
  4. Create Groups for Special Events (cruises, reunions, weddings)
  5. Send your stylist all your appointment details with photos
  6. Connect to other ladies by sending friend requests
  7. Connect with other amazing Ladies
  8. Shop our member store of products we adore
  9. Send direct messages to your connections
  10. Upload photos of your favorite styles and looks
  11. Upload images of products recommended by your stylist, friends, or ones you’ve found
  12. Create a living Beauty Notes album of your past, current, and future styles
  13. Build your portfolio with interesting truths and personal facts about the one and only you

The Tru Beauty Story platform will allow you to capture your Beauty Notes (allergies, bad reactions, burns, sensitivities, great looks, health-related hair loss, throw-back looks, repeatable looks, and more). If you travel often, move around, work in an industry that requires multiple locations and therefore multiple stylists and looks, then Tru Beauty Story will make your life easier by allowing you to share styles for future appointments with ease – your looks, treatments, images, and key preferences (like past great looks) are directly accessible to your chosen stylist.

How does TBS help me plan my women’s event or wedding?

Our group section allows you to create a group with other TBS members, so you can plan your special day with your favorite stylists. For weddings, you can allow your stylist to see how all the ladies look for planning hair, make-up, and dresses for your big day. Share images, get feedback, decide on looks, request appointments for special events, all in one place. So when you’re planning that major event, your group can collaborate, see images, make decisions like which day trips to take on the cruise, or share information like “hey, on Saturday, let’s all wear jeans and a black shirt for the photos.” You can incentivize your group to finalize tickets by showing that beautiful villa when you send the reminder; you get it — gather, plan, and enjoy your events together.

Should I try to build a large friend base on TBS?

We suggest you focus on building a group of significant friends on TBS. We encourage women to have and nurture true friends who they can call on during a midnight crisis. There are multiple platforms that will allow you to have a large group of people to influence or be influenced by. At TBS, we recommend you focus on interacting with key women who play a significant role in your life. These are the women who can give you honest feedback on that hip, fun style for the summer that may, or may not, be you. True blue friends who really journey with you in life and impact your life for the better – these are the ones we recommend you focus on, high quality individuals, who help make you a better you.

    Why is there a cost?

    Everything worthwhile has a cost attached and free is not always free! We believe that a comparable cost of a light lunch to an extravagant dinner, the choice being yours, is worth the services we provide. For example, you have access to our beauty platform, member store, rich and inspiring blogs, portfolio features, messaging, image folders, group features for events, and you can connect with other great ladies. Your beauty notes and appointment details can also be captured in one place. For now, we’re starting with hair, whether you go simple or have complex hair appointments, you can capture exactly what you got done, and share important information, like allergies or personal health factors that may impact you during an appointment. Need we say more…well, we’ll say a bit more — plus new features to come!

    How does TBS help me or women in general?

    The ongoing conversation that women must have as it relates to trafficking, domestic violence, unequal policies and systems, other forms of abuse, bullying, beauty standards around the world, are just a few of the reasons why we invite you to join TBS.

    How does TBS benefit me?

    We want to see women, young adults, and older teenagers grow, develop, challenge themselves to become the very best woman they can be.

    You can access practical beauty solutions, through our beauty platform, but our site is about so much more than that. We believe being exposed to other great women benefits all of us and that’s our aim. We have created a space where women who aspire to be great, do great things, can gather and spur each other on to greatness.

      Does my stylist need to be a member of TBS?

      No, you can send your stylist important information about your upcoming appointment directly from the TBS platform via email. Your stylist will need to confirm your appointment and you will continue to pay your stylist through your normal means.Yes, we’re about taking a journey together and having a shared experience. The same way you get on a bus, plane, or boat to go somewhere together, well it’s like that. Our member blogs are specifically for TBS members.

      Why are there language guidelines and a violations policy?

      The guidelines are there, because we have to have a construct around how we operate and treat each other on the Tru Beauty Story platform. People are people and many people abuse their free will by acting wrongfully, out of order, unkindly, unjustly, and in malice toward others. When this happens, we have report buttons in various places on the site, so our community can participate in keeping our community emotionally clean, free of venom, abuse, and toxicity. We have a very low tolerance for women being disrespected, threatened, or harmed by anyone. We simply refuse to be a hostile environment where such behaviors are tolerated. Instead we welcome character, strength, caring, honesty, and gracious discourse, no matter the subject.       How old do I need to be to use TBS?

      You need to be 17 years old to have your own TBS account.

      Do I need to be a member to read the blogs?

      Do I need to be a member to shop?

      Yes, for ongoing store access, you need to be a member to shop in the Tru Beauty Store. Guests and friends of TBS may receive store access from time to time. However membership allows you to shop at any time, take advantage of sales, special edition products, limited specialty items, and receive sales notifications.
